The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing financial documentation and the upkeep of financial records, reports, and schedules for the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc.

This role demands exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities, collaborating closely with the Controller and the accounting team, as well as various departments within the organization.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Exhibit the highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adhering to company policies and procedures while complying with relevant laws and regulations.

Ensure that all transactions are executed in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles.
Complete the reconciliation of multiple bank accounts promptly throughout the month and at month-end.
Assist fellow accounting team members in the reconciliation process.
Investigate, resolve, and rectify accounting entries and transactions.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
Process journal entries efficiently.
Support Sales Tax processing and maintain licenses for the various entities managed.

Oversee the accounting for third-party managed properties, including report submissions, data feed reconciliations, account reviews, and necessary corrections.

Monitor and assess accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
Analyze revenue and expenditure patterns.
Assist in budget preparation.
Evaluate data to facilitate informed business decision-making.
Generate financial statements and month-end reports.
Address customer inquiries regarding accounting and reporting requests.
Report to the Controller on accounting processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, including bank reconciliations.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Experience and Skills:
This position necessitates 2+ years of professional-level accounting experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Proficiency in Excel, Adobe, and Word.
