We are on the lookout for exceptional Vision Care Technicians to collaborate closely with our Optometrists, ensuring that every patient enjoys a remarkable experience during their eye examinations.

Your role will involve managing a substantial patient flow, conducting preliminary assessments, assisting with contact lens training, facilitating video-assisted eye exams (when applicable), gathering essential data, and ensuring the smooth operation of our eye examination services.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the doctor and patients, fostering strong relationships with all eye exam clients.
  • Conduct initial clinical data collection, which includes but is not limited to: autorefraction, visual acuity testing, intraocular pressure measurement, pupil evaluation, ocular motility assessment, retinal imaging, and lensometry.
  • Assist with both in-person and video-assisted eye examination appointments as available.
  • Guide new contact lens users through the process of insertion and removal training.
  • Provide training to additional team members (as directed by the Store Leader) on how to deliver insertion and removal training.
  • Support patients and the store team throughout the booking process, including appointment confirmations, annual exam outreach, and follow-ups for contact lenses to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Efficiently manage patient flow through the eye examination process.
  • Assist the doctor in maintaining accurate and meticulous records of collected data.
  • Help prepare reports for other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental regulations and privacy policies (e.g., HIPAA/PIPEDA) and company protocols.
  • Maintain an organized examination room by restocking supplies, keeping contact lens trials current, ensuring cleanliness of equipment, and performing ongoing maintenance and calibration as required.
  • Support the retail sales team as directed by the Store Leader.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in a medical setting supporting healthcare professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of eyewear and the ability to articulate the features and benefits of various products.
  • Familiarity with G Suite.
  • Previous experience in optometry, electronic health records, or medical care.
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology systems and equipment (e.g., EMR systems, retinal cameras, examination room tools).
  • Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification (Certified Paraoptometric Technician).
