As a vital member of the US Renal Care team, the Renal Care Patient Support Specialist (RCPS) plays a crucial role in delivering compassionate care and executing essential treatment activities for patients experiencing renal challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Interaction: You will engage directly with patients, ensuring they receive safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis services. Your duties will encompass:
- Collecting patient vital signs before and after treatment.
- Initiating and monitoring dialysis procedures.
- Concluding treatment sessions and obtaining blood samples as directed by medical professionals.
Technical Duties: You will prioritize quality by:
- Preparing dialysis machines for patient use.
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment post-treatment.
- Conducting safety inspections and documenting results to uphold quality standards.
Safety Protocols: Adhering to safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment, is essential. You will work under the guidance of a Charge Nurse, ensuring compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
STATE-SPECIFIC CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Each state has unique certification prerequisites that must be met:
- California: Current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certificate or completion of an approved training program.
- Maryland: Certified Nursing Assistants Dialysis Technicians (CNA-DT) certificate or completion of an approved training program.
- New Mexico: New Mexico dialysis technician certificate or completion of an approved training program.
- Ohio: Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate or completion of an approved training program.
- Oregon: Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHDT) certificate or provisional certification from an approved training program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
We seek candidates who possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A genuine passion for healthcare and patient support.
- Previous experience in healthcare settings, particularly in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA, is advantageous.
- Comfort with handling medical solutions according to established protocols.
- The ability to distinguish primary colors.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of the USRC training program, including demonstrated competency, is mandatory. CPR certification is required within a specified timeframe. Additionally, obtaining Patient Care Technician certification through a recognized program within a designated period is essential for maintaining good standing.
