Director of Operations - Inside Higher Ed

Position Overview

The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the financial, operational, and administrative functions of our organization. This role includes collaboration with various departments to manage grants, contracts, and revenue-generating initiatives. Additionally, the Director will support human resources activities, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.

The Director of Operations will play a crucial role in advising the leadership team on resource allocation and will be instrumental in designing and implementing operational strategies that align with our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Support the development and execution of fundraising strategies.
  • Oversee human resources functions, including talent acquisition and employee engagement.
  • Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders, including donors and partners.


Work Environment

This position will report directly to the Executive Director and will collaborate closely with the leadership team and staff across the organization. The Director will handle sensitive information and will be expected to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in operations, administration, or related areas.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with operational management software.
  • Commitment to the mission of Inside Higher Ed.


Compensation

The compensation for this position will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
