Job Title: Pre-Op/PACU Manager

At i-Health Inc, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pre-Op/PACU Manager to join our team. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our preoperative and post-anesthesia care units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and participate in staff training, development, and educational programs.
  • Ensure proper communication channels within the department and surgery center.
  • Communicate with the Executive Director on unit activity and personnel.
  • Assure cost-effective utilization of supplies and equipment.
  • Establish and enforce continuous quality improvement data collection and activities.
  • Schedule employee and case assignments.
  • Complete employee performance evaluations.
  • Foster an environment where the patient care team can work cooperatively toward objectives.
  • Enforce policies regarding proper handling of narcotics.
  • Support the Executive Director with planning and evaluating safe, economical, efficient patient care.
  • Demonstrate understanding and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Knowledgeable of the psychological, physiological, and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Manage patient pain and direct care accordingly.
  • Direct and assist with care of patients in cardiac arrest or emergency situations.
  • Manage and verify P&P's are consistent and accurately used.
  • Promote safety and health in the work environment.
  • Maintain all employee annual testing and health documentation.
  • Demonstrate compliance with hazardous waste, radiation safety, and other applicable clinical standards.
  • Accountable for reporting occurrences through the center's established reporting process.
  • Foster the developmental and educational process of self, colleagues, orientees, and students.
  • Participate in acceptable continuing education and career development.
  • Assist in managing controllable costs.
  • Occasionally participate in community functions.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an NLN accredited school of registered nursing.
  • Current licensure as a RN in the State of MN or WI.
  • Two years of PACU experience in the last 5 years.
  • Current member of the American Society of Post-anesthesia Nurses.
  • Two years of leadership nursing experience, preferably in outpatient surgery setting.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
