Job Summary

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Behavioral Health at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients with behavioral health conditions. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, evaluating, and developing individualized plans of care, including medication management. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients with behavioral health conditions, including adults, adolescents, and children
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, including medication management
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialty in community mental health, behavioral health, or psychiatric nursing
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license with prescriptive authority
  • Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health, managing patients with psychiatric conditions
  • Experience working in an integrated behavioral health model within a primary care setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assessment using the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and International Statistical Classification of Disease and Related Health Problems (ICD)
  • Experience with documentation according to national accreditation guidelines
