The ideal candidate for the fire alarm and security technician position will have a minimum of four years of relevant experience and possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities necessary for troubleshooting various systems. Preference will be given to candidates with training or certifications from ESA, SIA, and/or NICET.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting service calls for commercial clients
  • Installing new Fire Detection, Intrusion Protection, Video Surveillance, Access Control, and Network Infrastructure Systems
  • Managing conduit and cabling for both new and existing systems
  • Servicing components of Fire and Intrusion systems
  • Maintaining positive customer relations and satisfaction
  • Continuously enhancing knowledge through seminars, conferences, and professional training

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four years of experience with fire alarm and/or electronic security systems
  • Ability to interpret blueprint drawings
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Highly organized and methodical, with a keen attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Must maintain a clean driving record
  • Experience with Honeywell Vista and/or Firelite is preferred
  • Familiarity with NFPA Inspection and testing requirements is preferred

Education and Experience

  • ESA and/or NICET Certification is preferred
  • Candidates with current state licensing are preferred

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75lbs
  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Capability to utilize a ladder

Work Schedule

  • Typically, 40-50 hours per week during standard business hours
  • Regular network maintenance outside of standard hours, typically once or twice a month
  • Occasional work outside of typical hours to support special projects

Salary: Starting at $32.50 per hour
