Job Responsibilities

The Technician is responsible for:

  • Executing repairs on vehicles utilizing the appropriate tools, technologies, and methodologies to restore vehicles to optimal working condition.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
  • Mentoring colleagues to support their success.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to: Service Manager

Key Job Functions:

  • Maximize Production and Customer Satisfaction.
  • Conduct all repairs following the appropriate tools, procedures, and protocols.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the specific manufacturer(s) manual.
  • Disassemble and evaluate any additional needs, labor, and parts, communicating with the Shop Foreman, Assistant Service Manager, or Service Advisors.
  • Ensure quality repairs at all times and alert management of any substandard processes, parts, or procedures.
  • Communicate with team members regarding any issues that may cause delays in vehicle repairs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect operations by exercising discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Complete and uphold all required training as mandated by Larry H. Miller Dealerships.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times, adhering to all OSHA/EPA regulations.
  • Manage job-related stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Uphold Integrity.
  • Demand the highest ethical standards from oneself and others, maintaining composure in all workplace interactions.
  • Set an example of a positive attitude and professionalism, including maintaining a neat, orderly, and safe work environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in a dealership environment due to the location of customer vehicles and shop supplies.
  • Must be capable of sitting, standing, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, using hands and fingers, handling or operating objects, tools, or controls, and moving throughout the facility.
  • Required vision includes close, distance, peripheral, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.
  • Exposure to typical shop conditions such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, chemicals, and adhesives.
  • While performing job duties, the employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions.
  • Required to operate equipment and move vehicles safely at all times.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality as outlined by the department supervisor/manager are expected.
  • This position typically involves regular business hours; however, working more than 40 hours per week is common.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education, Experience, Certification(s)/Training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in automotive service.
  • Valid driver's license and MVR record compliant with company policy.
  • Applicable factory training credentials.
  • ASE certification, local state safety inspection, and emissions license preferred.
