Job Summary

The Assistant Administrator is a key member of the leadership team at Alden of Waterford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, responsible for overseeing the internal operations of the facility. This role requires a high level of expertise in long-term care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Directly supervise employees, provide in-services training, and promote job knowledge.
  • Problem-Solving and Quality Assurance: Identify problems, develop and implement solutions, and ensure quality care is being rendered.
  • Admissions and Resident Care: Ensure the necessary information is gathered for resident admissions, complete paperwork, and facilitate the admission process.
  • Community Relations: Represent the facility to clients, hospitals, and community agencies, establishing a good rapport with transferring institutions.
  • Facility Management: Oversee building and ground cleaning, maintenance, and ensure the facility is clean, odor-free, and attractive in appearance.
  • Employee Relations: Counsel and discipline personnel as necessary, complete performance evaluations, and promote a positive work environment.
  • Professional Development: Attend and participate in continuing education programs, recommend required changes to improve resident care and stay within budget.
Requirements
  • Education: High school education or equivalent; college education or licensed nurse preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of long-term care, excellent communication and leadership skills, ability to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, cope with mental and emotional stress, and possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to function adequately.
