Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief of Anesthesia to lead our anesthesia service line at Piedmont Healthcare Corporate. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and operational excellence of our anesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provider & Staff Management: Serve as a clinical role model and leader, overseeing the clinical activities of our anesthesia team and working closely with site medical directors to maintain high standards of care.
  • Performance Management: Coordinate activities to deliver high-quality patient care and services, while focusing on efficiency and cost reduction. Leverage complex decision support systems to evaluate performance effectiveness and develop new opportunities for growth.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Carry out anesthesia physician practice strategies, policies, and programs as determined by PHC Executive Leadership. Oversee the coordination of clinical start-up for new practices and develop and implement specific programs to support the long-range direction for practice.
  • Communication: Maintain high visibility and serve as a change-agent, acting as a liaison with System & Physician Enterprise executive teams to clarify clinical rules, structures, and policies.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree from a recognized school of medicine and fellowship trained in Anesthesiology.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible work experience in a senior management position in a medical practice setting, healthcare administration, or a closely related field.
  • Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology and Georgia Medical License to Practice Anesthesiology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree in healthcare or business administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of the healthcare industry and experience running complex anesthesiology practices in a multi-hospital system.
