Job Summary

Piedmont Healthcare seeks a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Anesthesia to lead our anesthesia department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction, clinical leadership, and operational management of our anesthesia services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provider & Staff Management
    • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to our anesthesia team, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
    • Partner with HR and Provider Recruitment to develop and implement compensation, recruitment, and retention strategies.
    • Oversee site medical directors to manage employed provider operations and resolve provider concerns.
    • Coordinate activities with hospital and ASC leadership teams to facilitate delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Performance Management
    • Lead the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, monitoring progress and implementing opportunities for improvement.
    • Review ongoing financial and operational reports, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
    • Work closely with leaders to assess and improve departmental performance, providing direction and leadership for utilization and process improvement.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Carry out anesthesia physician practice strategies, policies, and programs as determined by PHC Executive Leadership.
    • Oversee the coordination of clinical start-up for new practices, ensuring a smooth transition across the Piedmont system.
    • Partner with strategic resources to develop and implement specific programs, products, and services to support long-range direction for practice operations.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctor of Medicine degree from a recognized school of medicine and fellowship trained in Anesthesiology.
  • Ten years of progressively responsible work experience in a senior management position in a medical practice setting, healthcare administration, or a closely related field.
  • Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology and Georgia Medical License to Practice Anesthesiology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-graduate degree in healthcare or business administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of the healthcare industry and experience running complex anesthesiology practices in a multi-hospital system.
