The Senior Reservoir Valuation Engineer will play a crucial role in providing technical assessments for oil and gas clients across various initiatives related to acquisitions and divestitures, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic options. This position involves managing engineering-specific elements within the valuation process, including production data forecasting, type curve development, lease operating expense analysis, and strategic planning for development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive technical evaluations, analyzing and presenting data to identify critical performance indicators and conduct economic assessments.
  • Create presentation materials for pre-marketing documents and data room presentations utilizing client or publicly available data for substantiation.
  • Lead or support the coordination of executing mandates and external project meetings as necessary.
  • Implement engineering-specific workflows such as production data forecasting, type curve development, lease operating expense analysis, and development strategy planning.
  • Collaborate with the A&D and finance teams to perform thorough economic evaluations.
  • Prepare data rooms based on information provided by clients.
  • Market assets to prospective buyers by delivering analyses to large audiences and addressing buyer inquiries.
  • Assist with various technical project-related tasks as needed.
  • Support the development of new business opportunities.
  • Evaluate risks associated with business decisions, ensuring careful consideration of the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policies, and applying sound ethical judgment in personal conduct and business practices.

Qualifications:

  • 3-6+ years of experience in a relevant reservoir engineering position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Spotfire, and economic software such as Aries, PHDWin, and ComboCurve; coding skills are an advantage.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • Fundamental understanding of cash flow, economic principles, and return on investment.
  • Demonstrated capability to assess technical risks in economic valuations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a high-risk environment.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong influencing and relationship management abilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
