Job Title: Medical Equipment Planner

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS) is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Equipment Planner to work in Long Beach, California, providing equipment planning duties for a local VA Hospital.

Job Summary

The Medical Equipment Planner will be responsible for successfully developing and delivering medical equipment plans as scoped for healthcare capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer services and programs related to the operation and safety of Federal facilities.
  • Produce procurement packages following VA/GSA contracting procurement standards, including Statement of Work (SOW), technical specifications, attachments, documentation, drawings, independent government cost estimates, bid sheets, and budgets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend equipment to be purchased for large and small renovation projects and new healthcare facilities.
  • Interpret and review provided architectural plans for concurrence to the organization's Technical Information Library (TIL), standards, and equipment specifications.
  • Produce initial clinical space equipment lists with required and appropriate clinical equipment.
  • Apply continuous improvement to process and development of material flow to deliver optimum level scheduling and planning.
  • Provide all inputs for the development of draft project cost estimates for minor work, repair, and maintenance.
  • Monitor emerging technologies, report on healthcare-related technology trends, assess new healthcare-related technologies, and disseminate healthcare-related technology information as appropriate.
  • Identify and track inventory of existing equipment in areas planned to be relocated or decommissioned.
  • Enter all equipment information into VA database when projects are completed and all equipment is installed.
  • Help develop processes, standards, and documentation for equipment procurement.
  • Maintain the digital resource library that includes drawings, plans, specification procurement documents, project correspondence, and project binders relating to major project equipment planning.

Qualifications

  • Preferred education of bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Minimum 2+ years of work experience in Medical Planning Design.
  • Project Management and Interior Design knowledge is beneficial but not required.
  • Experienced with the integration of medical equipment and associated infrastructure technology, including the exchange of information between disparate systems such as audiovisual, security, and acoustics, and information technology infrastructure and information technology systems.
  • Maintains functional knowledge of relevant safety codes and standards of regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission (TJC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
  • Must possess computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (email), Adobe Acrobat DC. Experience with Microsoft Teams is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project.
  • Must safeguard confidential information (both printed and electronic); Must comply with VA privacy act laws, federal regulations, VA statutes, and police, and VHA policy.
  • Must have a clean record and be able to successfully pass a drug test and thorough background check that spans beyond 7 years for possible access onto military installations.

Compensation

$60,320 annually, including 11 paid federal holidays per year, combined 80 hours accrued PTO and Sick time, and medical, health, dental, vision, and life insurance package.
