Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of the master production schedule to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers.
- Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors and leads to ensure schedule execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Release manufacturing orders and change orders in a timely manner to support schedules.
- Review and respond to MRP planning exception messages as required.
- Support the accuracy management of MRP planning parameters and data.
- Assist with the monitoring of inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Lead the coordination with manufacturing supervision to ensure timely and accurate sales department order expedite, order status, and recovery date request information.
- Manage and update the required customer lines of balances and other open order status tools, including updating recovery dates and status comments in GP.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure that the appropriate materials or services are procured to support schedule requirements.
- Communicate all component shortages and coordinate as necessary with Purchasing and incoming Inspection.
- Complete all special projects and tasks as assigned by the Planning Manager in an accurate and timely manner.
- Communicate critical issues that will impact the on-time delivery of a customer demand to the Planning Manager and appropriate Inside Sales Representative or Customer Service Representative.
- Coordinates contingency plans to achieve delivery promises when important deviations occur, properly adjusts due dates in the system, and informs Customer Service of the changes.
- Proactively supports all company and department goals and objectives.
- Supports the company's Mission, Vision & Values.
- Drives positive customer experience.
- Monitor and support proper documentation of build plans and all applicable sign-offs.
- Reports process and manufacturing improvements when and if inefficiencies exist to the Planning Manager.
- Supports Continuous Improvement Initiatives, creates analysis to implement KANBAN, Min / Max, Safety stocks, and proficiently implements visual factory.
- Abides by company good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Performs and coordinates through others, production planning activities to assure manufacturing orders start on time, monitor progress, and support where needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of 5-10 years as a production planner.
- 3-7 + years of experience in a production planning role utilizing an MRP system.
- Manufacturing Order planning management experience including release, follow up, close, complete, scrap.
- ERP/MRP system experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Aerospace experience preferred.
Competencies:
- CPIM Certification or other equivalent supply chain certification.
- Advance knowledge of Excel and Microsoft suite. Knowledge of pivots, and other Excel filtering tools.
- Good understanding of S&OP, inventory management, scheduling, capacity planning, & materials replenishment.
- Analytical, communication, interpersonal, team development, project management, and technical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience reviewing and issuing manufacturing orders, BOM's, and routers.
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish/English).
- Green Belt - Six Sigma preferred.
Other Subjective Criteria:
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and diplomatic skills.
- MS Great Plains MRP experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively work with several individuals in varying positions throughout different levels of management within the organization.
- Ability to be persistent and to follow-through until the order is completed and shipped, or a task has been completed.
- Must be able to reason, multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize to create the optimum solution to any problem with various and multiple conflicting factors.
- Good mathematical and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, to include Word, Excel, and Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
