Position Overview

Odle Management – A subsidiary of Eckerd Connects

This role reports directly to the Academic Manager and is classified as a salaried, exempt position. The individual will serve as an educator in a standard classroom environment, delivering instruction in the specified subject areas. The position emphasizes a continuous commitment to equipping youth for future employment by exemplifying, guiding, and overseeing excellence in the eight Career Success Standards, which include: workplace relations and ethics; information management; communication skills; multicultural awareness; personal growth and development; career and personal planning; interpersonal skills; and independent living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold and demonstrate the core values and operational principles of Eckerd Connects.
  • Foster a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere to maximize student motivation.
  • Maintain a high level of discipline to ensure optimal learning conditions.
  • Establish strong rapport with students to enhance the learning experience.
  • Utilize all available curriculum resources effectively.
  • Prepare the classroom adequately for daily activities.
  • Manage student personnel records and documentation.
  • Accurately record and submit daily attendance to the Student Records department.
  • Ensure the security and proper maintenance of classroom equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the classroom environment.
  • Compile reports related to student and staff hours, requisitions, and monthly evaluations.
  • Assist the Supervisor during scheduled inventory assessments.
  • Participate in mandatory staff training sessions.
  • Adhere to all components of Eckerd Connects' Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Clearly communicate and consistently model appropriate Career Success Standards and employability skills, including personal responsibility and computer proficiency.
  • Maintain accountability for staff, students, and property while adhering to safety protocols in all areas of responsibility.
  • Promote a center environment free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, ensuring a safe space for both staff and students.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be certified to teach in the state where the center is located (the requirement may be waived if the center is unable to hire certified educators, but the candidate must pursue certification).
  • A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is preferred.

Additional Skills: Knowledge of the required subject area, excellent organizational abilities, capacity to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification, and the ability to motivate and inspire students while effectively relating to the trainee population. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. The position requires the ability to operate household appliances and drive a vehicle. Furthermore, the individual must be capable of collaborating with team members and maintaining effective working relationships with all facility staff and departments.
