Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Couplet Days team on a PRN basis. As a Couplet Days RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to new mothers and their newborns, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the care of newborns at deliveries, maintaining skills in neonatal resuscitation
  • Demonstrate assessment skills in both high-risk and low-risk obstetrical patients, recognizing maternal and/or newborn problems and reporting to the physician
  • Assist with the transfer of newborns to another facility when indicated, notifying charge nurse and House Supervisor of anticipated transfer
  • Notify all surgical team members of emergency and scheduled surgical procedures
  • Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others with matching identification bands, documenting band identification numbers appropriately in medical records
  • Demonstrate knowledge and provide support to natural mothers, agencies, and foster or adoptive parents when newborns are for adoption

Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing or degree program
  • Current Texas RN License or a Compact RN License from a NCLA Compact State
  • BLS certification
