Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Preston Companies. As a Project Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project plans, specifications, and soils reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform materials take-off and verify estimated quantities to ensure project budget is met.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, material suppliers, and truckers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparing purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and logs.
  • Prepare and review project videos and pictures to identify potential issues and changes in conditions.
  • Maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule to ensure project progress and resource allocation.
  • Attend weekly job site meetings to ensure project progress and address any issues.
  • Process and analyze project reports to identify deviations from the planned schedule or rate of production.
  • Track extra work labor hours, equipment hours, and materials used on projects.
  • Review daily timecards to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
