Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive and skilled individual to join our Real Estate and Facilities team as the Facilities Operations Senior Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact the management of our facilities in New York City and Rochester, ensuring they meet our high standards for excellence in operations and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operational integrity of all facilities, ensuring they adhere to safety, efficiency, cleanliness, and reliability standards.
  • Act as the primary liaison with various stakeholders, including Directors of Operations and facility managers.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies and manage ongoing facility upkeep.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Real Estate and Facilities team to manage capital improvement budgets and projects.
  • Engage in regular communication with property management firms to ensure timely resolution of maintenance issues.
  • Facilitate effective relationships with local education department teams to streamline operations and expedite repairs.
  • Lead site meetings and represent the organization in relevant council meetings.
  • Coordinate project requests and facilitate review meetings with stakeholders.
  • Support the submission of capital project proposals to the appropriate educational authorities.
  • Participate in the execution of significant capital projects and manage related bidding processes.
  • Oversee seasonal cleaning operations in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the facility portfolio to assist in project specification and review.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of seven years of experience with a comprehensive understanding of facility systems and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate effective relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Project management skills for coordinating capital and long-term initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work weekends when required.
