Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure all equipment and structures are in optimal condition, complying with safety and operational protocols.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise daily activities to guarantee seamless facility operations.
  • Crisis Management: Serve as the primary contact for resolving issues swiftly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee MEP vendors and service contracts, ensuring quality service within budgetary limits.
  • Mechanical Systems Oversight: Manage the operation and upkeep of essential mechanical systems, including pools, HVAC, and elevators.
  • Team Leadership: Direct maintenance staff to ensure efficient task execution and adherence to cleaning schedules.
  • Project Management: Develop and coordinate project task lists, working closely with maintenance personnel to ensure timely completion.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Utilize resources effectively to address urgent repairs promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Conduct regular inspections to ensure all areas meet safety standards and implement necessary improvements.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed Daily Activity Reports on mechanical issues for the Senior Director of Operations and Facilities.
  • Vendor Relations: Maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors, ensuring service delivery aligns with agreements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in managing mechanical systems within facilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary certifications, including Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and others as required.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Work Schedule:
  • This is a full-time position with a non-traditional schedule.
  • Availability for weekend shifts and varying weekday hours is essential to accommodate operational needs.

  • Works closely with Chelsea Piers staff and property management.
