Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Aviation Systems Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in Garmin avionics products to deliver exceptional technical assistance to both customers and distributors.

Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members.
- Address technical inquiries from customers and installers regarding Garmin products through various communication channels.
- Provide on-site support for avionics installations and troubleshooting at customer locations as needed.
- Coordinate the return of equipment for factory repairs and manage exchanges for out-of-box failures.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and other Garmin departments, monitoring and reporting on equipment failure trends.
- Identify and suggest enhancements for Garmin products, documentation, and processes.
- Evaluate special cases and authorize warranty services when appropriate.
- Review technical manuals for accuracy and clarity, ensuring they are user-friendly.
- Offer advanced support to colleagues and customers as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific Garmin avionics products.
- Act as a point of contact between Engineering and customers or distributors to support products with SME responsibilities.
- Represent Garmin at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, as required.
- Participate in a rotation for 24/7 aviation technical support coverage.
- Assist senior team members in mentoring less experienced Field Service Engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent military/trade school experience, or a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
- Prior experience as a Garmin Field Service Engineer 1 for at least 2 years, or a minimum of 2 years in field service support.
- At least 4 years of experience in avionics installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate effectively across functions.
- A customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems and avionics subsystems.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various avionics systems at the LRU level.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and a proactive problem solver with a proven track record in managing complex challenges.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in an aircraft maintenance facility or manufacturing environment.
- Possession of a Pilot's License.
- Experience with troubleshooting and installing Garmin avionics systems.
