Family Support Specialist

Position Overview: The Family Support Specialist is responsible for delivering comprehensive case management services aimed at ensuring the safety, stability, and overall wellbeing of children and their families.
Qualifications: A bachelor's or master's degree in social work, community counseling, human development, child and family development, applied family and youth services, public health, health sciences, trauma studies, sociology/social services, substance abuse/addictions, early childhood education, or psychology from an accredited institution is required.
Experience: Prior experience in child and family services is preferred.
Certification: Preferred licensure by the Kansas BSRB. A valid driver's license and auto insurance are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
Strive to comprehend and support the unique experiences and needs of families. Address needs that encompass developmental stages, trauma, socioeconomic factors, gender, race, ethnicity, and language. Foster and sustain strong relationships with clients, placement providers, DCF, colleagues, and community partners. Share pertinent and appropriate information with families and involved professionals actively. Respond promptly to all inquiries and requests. Deliver home and community-based services to clients. Services include, but are not limited to, observing caregiver/child interactions, maintaining existing and developing connections, coordinating resources, providing on-call crisis intervention, safety planning, skill development, transporting clients, and conducting drug screenings to ensure safety and wellbeing. Utilize insights gained from assessments to advocate for the best interests of clients. Advocacy efforts may include providing court testimony, attending school meetings, and coordinating mental health services. Complete all required documentation in a timely and thorough manner. Documentation may include case logs, comprehensive assessments, court reports, and social histories.Join Our Team:
