Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior RF Systems Engineer to join our team at Garmin. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex RF systems and antennas for our aviation products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF systems and antennas for Garmin's aviation products, including externally mounted and product-integrated antennas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that RF systems meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input on RF system design aspects.
  • Evaluate new RF manufacturing technologies and apply them to existing and new designs.
  • Contribute to project leadership and program planning, providing technical input to product development plans and concept documents.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers in RF system design and development.
  • Contribute to advanced technical research on new RF ideas and enhance Garmin's Intellectual Property.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of industry experience in RF/antenna design, or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on RF/antennas and electromagnetics and a minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
  • Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule).
  • Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability with application of design standards and procedures to develop moderately complex RF system designs, including simulations, prototyping, and evaluation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5).
  • Extensive circuit design experience for consumer or aviation products.
  • Experience with HFSS and simulation-driven design workflows.
  • RF design experience, such as filters, LNAs, receivers, etc.
  • Experience with Keysight Pathwave (ADS) or AWR Microwave Office.
  • Previous design experience with patch antennas, quad-helix antennas, and other large form factor antennas.
