About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resource Coach to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. As a key member of our Ivy Cares department, you will play a vital role in supporting students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach and engagement with at-risk student populations to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Support the planning and implementation of departmental programs and projects to enhance student success.
  • Collaborate with Student Success division initiatives to improve services and develop strategies for student persistence, retention, and success.
  • Engage in active outreach efforts to inform students about the services offered in the IvyCARES department.
  • Respond to and manage phone calls, emails, and student drop-ins in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and coordinate new student intakes to ensure timely services and follow-up.
  • Provide support and guidance to students in resolving financial situations and promoting proactive financial management.
  • Develop plans of action and provide tools, resources, and accountability to students to help them meet their goals.
  • Assist students in applying for emergency aid and connecting them with external social service resources.
  • Build relationships with community service organizations to enhance resource availability for students.
  • Assist with resource fairs and events to promote student engagement and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Work experience in counseling, social support services, financial management, and/or job placement.
  • Ability to process and respond quickly to student crises.
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local and regional travel.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population and communicate effectively with students, staff, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of experience in personal finances, employment supports, and customer care, with a focus on budgeting, asset building, and financial management.
  • Certification in financial planning is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of local community resources, social services, and the needs of low-income working populations.
What We Offer

This is an exempt position, and the Resource Coach will work primarily at the North Meridian campus with occasional assignments at the Lawrence and Plainfield campuses as needed.
