About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resource Coach to join our team at Ivy Tech Community College. As a key member of our Ivy Cares department, you will play a vital role in supporting students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach and engagement with at-risk student populations to create a supportive environment.
  • Support the planning and implementation of departmental programs and projects.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success division to improve and maximize services, develop student persistence, retention, and success strategies.
  • Engage in active outreach efforts to inform students about the services offered in the IvyCARES department.
  • Respond to and manage phone calls, emails, and student drop-ins.
  • Monitor and coordinate new student intakes, ensuring timely services and follow-up.
  • Provide financial coaching, employment coaching, and income support services to students.
  • Develop plans of action and provide tools, resources, and accountability to students to help them meet their goals.
  • Assist students in applying for emergency aid and finding exterior social service resources.
  • Interface with community service organizations to develop relationships and provide resources to students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Work experience in counseling, social support services, financial management, and/or job placement.
  • Ability to process and respond quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly to student crises.
  • Excellent social/interpersonal skills and writing ability.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of experience in personal finances, employment supports, and customer care.
  • Certification in financial planning is preferred but not required.
