Job Responsibilities
  • Build Strong Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication to ensure their day-to-day and long-term needs are met.
  • Manage Customer Expectations: Provide exceptional customer service by managing customer expectations and delivering on their needs.
  • Collaborate with Implementation Team: Work with the implementation team to ensure successful opportunities and accuracy in our pricing program.
  • Participate in Rate Matrix Reviews: Participate in rate matrix reviews to ensure profitability and competitiveness for key accounts.
  • Participate in Rate Calculations and Presentations: Participate in rate calculations, report preparation, and customer presentations for all large-spend bids.
  • Ensure Customer Commitments: Ensure customer commitments are met by working with internal teams and executing operational tasks as needed.
  • Identify and Build New Business Relationships: Identify, manage, and build new business relationships in the target market.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Manager: Collaborate and provide assistance to the Customer Service Manager in delivering optimal transportation service solutions.
  • Maintain Client Database: Maintain a database of clients, prospects, partners, and vendors.
  • Monitor Market Conditions: Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
  • Perform Administrative Duties: Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
  • Consult with Clients: Consult with clients to resolve problems and provide ongoing support.
  • Coordinate Meetings: Coordinate prospect, sales, and current customer meetings working closely with the VP of Sales/CS.
Requirements
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record with a strong focus on account management, setting appointments, presenting, and meeting with customers, pricing, proposals, and closing deals.
  • Experience in Transportation and Logistics: 2+ years of sales and account management experience in the transportation and logistics field is preferred.
  • Education: Recent college or university degree in Marketing or Business-related field is required.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in an analyst role and/or in pricing function is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to understand business processing requirements using technology and conceptualize creative solutions to implement them.
  • B2B Sales Experience: Experience working in B2B sales involving complex deals is an asset.
  • Sales Planning Skills: Strong knowledge and understanding of the sales planning process.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with proven closing ability.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as function in a team environment.
