About the Role

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) organization at Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Engineer to join our team. As an EV Safety Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe design and operation of electric vehicle infrastructure on Amazon campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Amazon Worldwide Design Engineering teams to ensure new equipment and modifications to existing EV infrastructure equipment comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and harmonized standards.
  • Collaborate with various engineering, design, and operations teams to identify and mitigate safety risks associated with electric vehicle infrastructure.
  • Lead process hazard analyses (PHAs) and assist in the development and review of equipment designs to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide guidance on requirements for controls and devices to ensure safe operation of electric vehicle infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure the safe operation of electric vehicle infrastructure.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in safety engineering, with a focus on electric vehicle safety.
  • Experience working in a global company with global or multi-country responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of international and EU/NA standards, such as EU Machinery Directive, ISO, ANSI, OSHA, and NFPA.
  • Experience with National Recognized Test Laboratory (NRTL) and Notified Bodies.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
