Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our team. As a key member of our electrical services team, you will be responsible for the installation of electrical systems in commercial and industrial construction markets. You will also supervise and coordinate the work of assigned helper/apprentice electricians, promote excellent customer relations, and interact with customers to determine their needs and provide solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to project worksites on time and ready to work, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Apply basic electrical and construction principles and practices to solve design, development, and modification problems with parts and assemblies provided.
  • Complete work in accordance with national and local codes, staying up-to-date with the latest revisions of the NEC.
  • Assist with loading materials, digging trenches, pulling wire, and other tasks needed to complete projects.
  • Treat all customers, other trades personnel, vendors, and fellow workers with dignity and respect.
  • Keep job sites clean and clutter-free, completing paperwork including timecards and submitting them as required.
  • Know, follow, and hold others accountable to the safety policy, program, and training of Lane Valente Industries.
  • Troubleshoot common electrical systems, including services, feeders, and branch circuits.
  • Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.
  • Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Pull wiring through conduit.
  • Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric ranges or motors, and install grounding leads.
  • Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 4 years' experience in electrical project installations.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Electrician's hand tools.
  • Ability to work with hands, multi-task, and possess advanced electrical knowledge.
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator's license and clear driving record to meet Company policy.
  • Applicable state certification.
