About the Role:

Sodexo Corporate Services Division is seeking a highly skilled Director of Facilities to oversee the management of up to six corporate office sites across our client portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 5-8 Facilities Managers, ensuring the smooth operation of building systems, work order management, preventative and corrective maintenance, EVS, and technical maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.

The Director will also be responsible for managing services, which are primarily self-performed with Sodexo staff and augmented with subcontractors. A strong understanding of contract, accounting, and finance management is required, as well as high-level interpersonal and communication skills to manage multiple client stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for client communication and field all client requests through direct reports
  • Oversee equipment and systems replacement or upgrades, evaluating condition and function of building utility systems to determine needs and priorities for capital funding requests, ensuring building code compliance, proper installation and design practices for systems associated with minor or major maintenance and renovation projects
  • Provide direction and oversight for the development and implementation of an overall emergency management strategy
  • Act as a liaison between the client and regulatory agencies and/or authorities, including building code compliance
  • Manage all tradespersons, managers, Directors, and employees of the Facilities Department
  • Review and evaluate existing programs, services, policies, and procedures
  • Develop recommendations for the client concerning improvements and implement or guide the implementation of new and/or modified programs, services, policies, or procedures
  • Communicate with client administrative and supervisory staff as well as external groups, agencies, contractors, architects, and engineers to plan, organize, coordinate, and/or communicate programs, services, policies, and/or procedures
  • Monitor flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility's standards and regulations
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, which may include energy savings programs
  • Prepare and maintain a variety of departmental records and reports
  • Monitor work performance and prepare and/or review performance evaluations for assigned personnel
  • Establish a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and maintaining ongoing communications with employees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • The ability to travel up to 50%
  • Leadership, technical, and financial acumen
  • Experience in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, preferably Maximo
  • A strong understanding of technology and deploying technical applications
  • A proven track record of successful Integrated Facilities Management leadership experience, as demonstrated by articulated results and accomplishments
