Hunting Operations Manager

The Hunting Operations Manager at Wing & Barrel Ranch is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the hunting fields, archery range, dog handling/boarding, and fishing pond. This role assists the General Manager in planning and implementing departmental budgets, training and supervising staff, and ensuring the highest level of service to club members and guests.

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for hunting and kennel operations.
  • Manage and maintain equipment, habitats, and facilities for seasonal hunting.
  • Assist in staff scheduling and management.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to dog handlers, hunting guides, and fishing instructors.
  • Ensure daily opening and closing SOPs are followed.
  • Develop and implement a routine priority system for animal care and maintenance.
  • Oversee morning cleaning of kennel area.
  • Monitor animal health and well-being.
  • Manage pheasant and quail pens.
  • Develop and improve hunting programs to meet member needs.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to members and staff.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Participate in maintenance and cleaning of sporting operations areas.
  • Provide input on property and equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in procurement and inventory of hunting supplies.
  • Manage fish stock and pond water.
  • Provide financial input for budgeting and expenditure tracking.

Requirements:

  • Good follow-up and ability to manage multiple projects.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Firearm Safety Certification.

Customer Service Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with Club Essentials and Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required.

Work Environment:

  • Typical work environment is moderate to loud.
