Job Overview

DHD Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Manager to oversee and enhance our project management capabilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective coordination of project controls staff and managing project financials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the project controls team, ensuring optimal workload distribution and staff coordination.
  • Cost Management: Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive project cost estimates and forecasts throughout all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Financial Analysis: Monitor and analyze project expenditures, including budgets, commitments, actuals, and forecasts, utilizing Earned Value Management techniques. Conduct variance analysis and risk assessments to maintain project financial health.
  • System Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of project control systems, recommending advancements in tools and methodologies.
  • Work Breakdown Structure: Establish a detailed project work breakdown structure aligned with industry standards.
  • Bid Review Support: Assist in evaluating project control requirements during the bid review process to ensure comprehensive cost control measures are integrated into contracts.
  • Collaboration: Engage with various project teams regarding cost codes, purchase orders, and change orders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Budget Development: Aid in the creation of detailed project budgets and cash flow projections.
  • Schedule Management: Collaborate with scheduling teams to develop and maintain integrated project schedules across all execution phases.
  • Resource Planning: Identify long lead items and resource constraints to ensure timely project initiation.
  • Reporting: Manage key project indicators and generate commercial reports, including internal job costing and project status updates.
  • Forecasting: Produce forecasts for total project costs, annual expenses, and monthly cash flow, providing variance analysis and insights.
  • Risk Management: Lead the risk management process, focusing on the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of potential risks.
  • Engineering Coordination: Facilitate coordination between engineering and construction activities to align with overall project schedules.
  • Contract Compliance: Work closely with senior management to ensure all contractual obligations and deadlines are fulfilled.
  • General Project Support: Provide senior-level project management assistance as required, including financial analysis, business development, and client relationship management.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary by management.
