Residential Youth Support Specialist - Zondervan Program

Role Responsibilities:

As a key member of our dedicated care team, you will work within our residential facilities to execute personalized treatment strategies designed for young males aged 14-18. Your role will involve mentoring, engaging in recreational activities, and fostering a nurturing environment for adolescents seeking a safe haven.

Compensation and Team Dynamics:

We offer a competitive starting wage of up to $22 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package. You will collaborate with a committed and passionate team focused on empowering youth and providing them with a hopeful future.

Realities of the Role:

This position comes with its challenges. Many of the youth we serve have faced significant trauma, including abuse and neglect, and may struggle with mental health issues or involvement in the juvenile justice system. Building trust with these individuals is crucial, as they may exhibit defensive behaviors.

Your Commitment:

We seek individuals who are resilient and prepared to support our youth consistently.

Work Schedule: This role requires availability for four weekdays and every other weekend, with shifts alternating between morning and evening.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 20 years
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license necessary
  • Preferred additional education or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related fields
  • Experience working with at-risk youth is advantageous
  • Physical capability to assist individuals, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work third shift hours with prior notice
  • Agreement with the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and alignment with the agency's mission and values
