The Account Manager collaborates closely with branch sales teams to identify and cultivate significant opportunities, focusing on both new and existing clientele.
Key Responsibilities- Enhance direct customer profitability for designated key accounts within the assigned territory.
- Engage with all current and prospective clients in the designated area and beyond as needed.
- Support the enhancement of vendor partnerships.
- Foster productive working relationships within the organization and with key accounts.
- Prepare job quotes for clients (following management guidelines), which includes assessing material costs, submittals, estimates, providing material specifications, and pricing for the customer.
- Assist with processing expense reimbursements and generating customer management reports.
- Review and adjust customer pricing with the goal of maximizing gross margins.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of job tracking and follow-up systems as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with the District Sales Manager on territory strategy and personal sales objectives.
- Implement the Impact Sales Process in daily activities, particularly when evaluating new accounts in the territory.
- Document all sales leads in the CRM, including all viable quotes that meet a specified monetary threshold.
- Communicate efficiently with branch personnel after securing projects to facilitate the timely delivery of products to clients.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong teamwork, multitasking, and leadership capabilities.
- Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities.
- Preferred experience in the distribution and/or building and construction sectors.
Office and warehouse/fabrication settings.
Physical RequirementsModerate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 30 lbs.
Travel RequirementsLight to moderate travel may be necessary.
Employment StatusExempt position.
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
