Responsibilities:

Job Purpose

We are looking for a skilled Associate to support the Strategic Finance and business planning initiatives within the Company. The Associate will play a crucial role in financial, business plan, and liquidity reporting by leading financial analyses and maintaining the Company Corporate Model. Key analyses will encompass strategic and analytical support for business development, corporate strategy, valuation, and capital allocation and planning.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of Pattern projects, business model, and corporate model to effectively conduct financial analyses that inform business decisions.
  • Conduct Corporate Model Review/Financial Analysis, including valuation, capital strategy, and liquidity assessments.
  • Integrate reporting, processes, and deliverables efficiently.
  • Support Corporate Finance Compliance, Rating Agency, and Investor Relations as required.
  • Assist with Corporate Finance/Strategic Transaction Support and other transactions as necessary.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to corporate finance and other finance functions.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field is required.
  • CFA credential is highly desirable; an MBA is a plus.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in project or corporate finance transactions within a financial institution or energy operating company.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business reporting, portfolio underwriting, or corporate valuation.
  • Experience with corporate valuations and a solid foundation in structured finance within the renewable energy sector.
  • Experience leading transactions in project finance and/or capital markets (first lien debt, tax equity, revolvers, mezzanine capital).
  • Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet modeling and financial analysis, with a strong understanding of valuing and financing renewable investments.

  • Exceptional ability to synthesize data and complex concepts into clear recommendations and concise presentations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively to meet deadlines and drive results towards shared corporate objectives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage time and resources effectively.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with a solid understanding of relevant financial modeling techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in both collaborative environments and individual project settings as needed.
  • High level of professionalism and tact in interactions with internal and external business partners.
  • Expertise in Excel financial modeling; experience with analytic and visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, PowerBI) is a plus.

The expected starting pay range for this role is $111,000 - $135,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may vary based on several factors, including location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern's compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees at all levels. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, life insurance, voluntary benefits, family care benefits, employee assistance program, paid time off and bonding leave, paid holidays, and a 401(k)/RRSP retirement savings plan with employer contributions.
