Project Overview

This initiative is part of a leading Fortune 10 company's Global Sustainability efforts, focusing on minimizing waste within operational frameworks. The primary goal is to comprehensively outline the processes, involved teams, and procurement strategies associated with the design and acquisition of operational assets.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Identify and engage key teams and stakeholders to delineate the workflow involved in the design and procurement of new assets.
  • Conduct interviews with various teams participating in asset procurement to uncover purchasing trends.
  • Document the design and procurement workflows for new constructions, retrofits, and existing facilities.
  • Spot inefficiencies in design and procurement processes that could facilitate asset reuse.
  • Develop actionable recommendations to address identified inefficiencies.
  • Assess and quantify opportunities for waste reduction.
  • Compile a comprehensive report detailing findings, identified gaps, and proposed solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Sustainability: Minimum of 3 years in an environmental or sustainability-focused role, with a preference for experience in waste management or circular economy practices.
  • Research and Stakeholder Engagement: Proficient in identifying and collaborating with relevant stakeholders, with strong interviewing capabilities to extract valuable insights from diverse teams. Skilled in process mapping and documentation to accurately represent current workflows.
  • Gap Analysis and Solution Development: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to pinpoint inefficiencies in existing processes, along with the creativity to propose innovative solutions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Expertise in data analysis to effectively quantify waste reduction opportunities.
  • Exceptional Written Communication: Ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Project Management Skills: Capable of coordinating various activities and deliverables with meticulous attention to detail.
