The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Lead to join our team in the Bureau of Engineering Design & Construction (BEDC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the sustainability program, ensuring consistency in design deliverables across all capital programs, and supporting DEP operating bureaus' capital construction requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the sustainability program, implementing City-wide sustainability objectives through the development of Bureau-specific standards.
- Ensure sustainable infrastructure investments by monitoring regulatory changes, tracking project key performance indicators, and providing support services to Engineering project teams.
- Advance sustainability goals through a mix of data analysis, conducting workshops and presentations, and coordinating with internal and external entities.
- Establish program objectives, manage the Section's work plan, and provide training to the Agency.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, or environmental science or in public health.
- At least two years of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative, or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work with Intra-Agency groups, other City Agencies, and key program stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team environment and collaborate with team members.
- Excellent communication, organization, writing, and public speaking skills, with the ability to meet and manage aggressive deadlines.
- Computer proficiency, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- LEED and/or Envision accreditation.
