ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Knowledge and management of rough carpentry tasks, including layout of foundations, walls, and decks, as well as installation of wood blocking, hardware, and guard rails.
  • Modeling safety as a fundamental principle and addressing safety concerns with the Superintendent.
  • Ensuring subcontractors maintain proper housekeeping on the project site.
  • Communicating material delivery needs to the project team and Superintendent.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of project documents to anticipate RFIs and coordination challenges.
  • Assisting in the preparation of daily, progress, and compliance reports.
  • Documenting subcontractor-related issues.
  • Contributing to project planning and schedule updates.
  • Establishing and managing the workflow of project activities.
  • Reviewing approved submittals to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Facilitating project closeout and owner turnover processes.
  • Adhering to and teaching company policies and processes to new team members.
  • Prioritizing mentorship and training for others.

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering is preferred, though equivalent experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of ten years of relevant construction experience and/or training is required.
  • Experience in Commercial or Multi-Family Construction is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Ability to work outdoors on construction sites in various weather conditions.
  • Capability to perform physical activities such as standing, crawling, climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequent work near moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to high places, wet conditions, fumes, and vibration.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel may be necessary.
