Position Overview

The role of the Senior Supply Chain Specialist is pivotal within the supply chain framework, focusing on the unique needs of the designated department. This position entails a deep integration with departmental leadership, ensuring that supply chain operations align seamlessly with departmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understanding Supply Chain Dynamics: Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the supply chain processes specific to the department, recognizing the broader implications of supply chain activities.
  • Collaboration with Department Leaders: Engage with departmental heads regularly and participate in daily operational meetings to foster communication and alignment.
  • Inventory Management: Establish and maintain inventory thresholds (PARs or ROPs/ROQs) for departmental supply areas.
  • Procurement and Receiving: Manage the ordering and receipt of inventory, including stock, non-stock, and special orders.
  • Communication: Relay all supply chain-related updates to both supply chain and departmental leadership as necessary.
  • Backorder Monitoring: Review daily backorder reports and proactively inform leadership of potential product shortages that may affect service delivery.
  • Substitution Coordination: Collaborate with supply chain and departmental leaders to identify alternatives for backordered items.
  • New Product Requests: Work alongside departmental leadership and Value Management to address new product inquiries.
  • Training and Support: Ensure the training of a backup team member capable of fulfilling the role in the absence of the primary specialist.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Uphold high standards of service to internal stakeholders.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned, ensuring focus remains on the designated department.
Compensation

Position Compensation Range: $30.81 Hourly

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in supply chain management.
  • Licensure: No specific licensure required.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and engage in computer tasks. Proficient communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential. Attention to detail and legible writing are necessary, along with the capability to lift or move up to 30 lbs (and occasionally more with assistance). Exposure to varying outdoor climates may occur.
