Job Overview

Position: Licensed Practical Nurse, Inpatient Facility - Per Diem

Arms Acres Inc. is seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses to become part of our esteemed healthcare team. The LPN will operate under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, taking responsibility for the execution of nursing procedures for a specific group of patients. The role requires a thorough understanding and proficiency in performing waived testing, which is maintained through ongoing training, familiarity with manufacturer guidelines, and regular evaluations by supervisory personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing assessment tool continuously to initiate the nursing process, including planning, coordinating, implementing, and assessing nursing care based on clinical expertise, patient requirements, and data collection.
  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with physician directives and established medical protocols, all within the nursing scope of practice, while contributing to treatment planning.
  • Execute detoxification protocols and provide suitable patient care in alignment with withdrawal scales and physician instructions.
  • Retrieve and administer medications accurately as per physician orders, ensuring adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of withdrawal medications and treatment modalities related to addiction.
  • Document and communicate relevant information to care providers that may influence the patient's treatment and ongoing care.
  • Initiate consultations (psychological, nutritional) when necessary.
  • Evaluate patient readiness for transition to the next level of care.
  • Assist in triaging minor injuries and illnesses in collaboration with medical staff and the RN Charge Nurse.
  • Support the orientation of new team members and act as a preceptor when required.
Per diem opportunities available
Qualifications:

Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid LPN license to practice in New York State. Previous experience or knowledge in areas such as alcoholism, chemical dependency, and mental health is preferred.
