Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesia Technician PRN to join our team at Methodist Hospital Westover Hills. As a key member of the perioperative team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care by providing essential anesthesia support to our clinicians during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize equipment and supplies for scheduled and emergent cases in anesthetizing locations.
  • Review present and future surgical schedules to ensure anesthesia staff have the necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Transport and set up equipment needed for procedures, including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, ETCO2 lines, pulse oximetry cables, temperature cables, and oxygen tanks/tubing.
  • Assure equipment is decontaminated and in good working condition before each procedure.
  • Follow department procedures for proper procurement and handling of non-controlled medications, I.V. fluids, contrast media, and irrigating fluids in the surgical services area.
  • Perform thorough, prompt room turnover between procedures, including cleaning and disinfection, restocking of anesthesia supplies, and cleaning/storing of anesthesia equipment and instrumentation as needed.
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot minor malfunctions of anesthesia equipment.
  • Remove and report all damaged or unsafe equipment.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.
