Anesthesia Technician III, 3PM

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician III to join our team at NYU Langone Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for stocking anesthetic supplies, maintaining equipment, and assisting clinicians with patient care.

The Anesthesia Technician III will provide assistance to all anesthesia clinicians during induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia, as well as with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
The ideal candidate will have a Graduate of a one-year Anesthesia Technician program or certification from an anesthesia technology program, with 5 years of experience. They must be able to read, write, and follow instructions, and have certification in BLS-C.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for calibrating and running Quality Control and Quality Assurance analysis, calibrating and trouble-shooting anesthesia machines, and setting up intravenous, central venous, arterial, pulmonary artery catheters using sterile techniques.
They will also be responsible for clearing debris and equipment from the surface and drawers of used anesthesia machines, insuring the sterility and cleanliness of all machines, and performing all standard procedural checks on equipment.
The Anesthesia Technician III will also be responsible for checking machine drawers to insure they are well stocked, making available fluids, Lactated Ringers, Plasma Lite, Normal Saline, Hespan, Flextend, FFP, Whole Blood, and Albumin, and disposing of supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.
They will also be responsible for ensuring medical pipeline is operational, including N2O, O2, and Medical Air, checking the status of nitrous oxide, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide cylinder banks to determine available supply pressure, and replacing empty cylinders.
The ideal candidate will also be able to assist with the training of Anesthesia Technicians, apprise the supervisor of the performance of Anesthesia Technicians, and ensure workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during, and after each shift.
