Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anesthesia Technician to join our team at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will provide critical support to our clinicians, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our anesthesia equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist anesthesia clinicians in all anesthetizing locations, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
  • Assemble, clean, and maintain equipment and supplies for Anesthesiology, adhering to hospital policies and protocols.
  • Update the EMR system with applicable staffing rotation data and provide technical assistance for the evaluation of anesthesia equipment.
  • Train newly hired Anesthesia Technicians in the procedures of the department and pertinent hospital policies.
  • Orient existing employees to new procedures and/or changes in existing procedures.
  • Assist in staff workflow regarding the care and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and provide liaison support with Biomed and Pharmacy Departments.
  • Participate in departmental projects and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Training as an Anesthesia Technician
  • Five years' experience as an Anesthesia Technician
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Demonstrates knowledge of airway management protocols, including tracheal intubations, fiber optic scopes, C-MAC's LMA's, tube exchanger, jet ventilation, and AMBU bag.
  • Ability to operate and teach the setup, use, and maintenance of all specialty equipment.
Preferred Criteria
  • ASATT certification
Work Environment

This position is located at NYP/Weill Cornell and will work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, with a shift of 11am-9pm.
