Job Summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled CRNA to join our team on a PRN basis. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.

You will work collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide high-quality patient care. To be successful in this role, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, including assessing patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia, ensuring patient safety, and adapting behavior to meet the specific needs of each patient population.

Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures
  • Assess patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia

  • Collaborate with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide high-quality patient care
  • Participate in department quality assurance initiatives and activities of professional development
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
  • License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice
  • Certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
Work Environment

This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. You must be able to stand for prolonged periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
