Position Summary:

The ReStore Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in supporting the management team with daily operations at the AHFH ReStore. This includes overseeing production activities and managing the retail sales environment. Key responsibilities encompass pricing, logistics for receiving and dispatching goods, customer and donor relations, cashier duties, inventory management, and record-keeping. The Supervisor is also tasked with ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining cleanliness, adhering to safety protocols, and managing merchandise flow. Furthermore, this role involves defining employee roles and responsibilities, setting performance expectations, and providing necessary training and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee Daily ReStore Operations
    1. Ensure adherence to store opening and closing protocols
    2. Report any theft or misuse of property to management
    3. Maintain a flexible schedule to support operational needs, including weekends and holidays
    4. Address customer complaints fairly and refer unresolved issues to management
    5. Supervise and train retail staff across all ReStore functions
    6. Assist with administrative tasks and cash handling
    7. Monitor sales transactions to ensure compliance with procedures
    8. Uphold store appearance according to cleanliness standards
    9. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
    10. Follow all safety and security guidelines
    11. Assist in various operational functions as needed
    12. Adhere to work schedules
    13. Perform additional duties as assigned
    14. Oversee the processing of donations and inventory management
    15. Ensure the store is well-equipped and meets budgetary requirements
    16. Participate in scheduled meetings
    17. Collaborate with management to oversee volunteer programs and ensure proper training
    18. Foster an environment of exceptional customer service
    19. Communicate daily operational issues to management
    20. Inform staff of production goals and assign daily tasks
    21. Maintain open communication with all team members
  2. Record Management
    1. Maintain a housekeeping log
    2. Track volunteer hours
    3. Conduct daily cash drawer closeouts and prepare deposits

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess flexible availability
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional professionalism and customer service skills
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a retail setting
  • Minimum of two years of staff management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Forklift certification is a plus

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is expected to spend the majority of the day on their feet, engaging in activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. They may need to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Vision capabilities, including color vision and depth perception, are also necessary.
