Reliability Engineering Specialist for Field Service Maintenance

Engages in diverse work settings and sectors to spearhead reliability-focused maintenance initiatives.

Guides, mentors, and shares best practices for reliability applications within client facilities, by client personnel.

Pinpoints critical issues that could lead to production losses and unnecessary maintenance costs. Reports findings to management.

Offers solutions to fundamental deficiencies and illustrates the economic advantages of their resolution.

Proactively drives the execution of equipment enhancement projects.

Recognizes and applies both existing and innovative processes/technologies to boost equipment efficiency and operational uptime.

Advocates for systems and best practice protocols to foster a proactive manufacturing environment.


Evaluates equipment performance, failure analytics, and maintenance history to formulate and implement engineering solutions, refined maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance optimization, and other reliability methodologies.

Provides technical assistance to operations and manufacturing teams regarding equipment troubleshooting.


Employs predictive, preventative, and precision maintenance technologies and strategies aimed at identifying or mitigating risks before failures occur, ensuring optimal maintenance execution.


Collaborates with the maintenance team to prioritize assets and actions by assessing failure probabilities and analyzing compliance, supply, strategy, and cost risks.


Delivers training and guidance in Root Cause and Reliability Analysis, taking responsibility for ongoing corrective action tracking, implementation, and follow-up to ensure comprehensive documentation of all Root Cause Analysis initiatives.

Ensures adherence to regulatory standards and ATS policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET accredited)

Eight or more years of reliability experience across multiple manufacturing sites

Demonstrates proficiency in a comprehensive range of reliability tools

Strong technical knowledge of electrical or mechanical components, tools, and designs

Ability to conduct failure mode effects analysis, cause and effect diagrams, root cause failure analysis, life-cycle costing, and risk assessment

Ability to research and implement new equipment technologies/trends

Strong problem-solving, mathematical, analytical, and decision-making skills

Proficient in computer applications, maintenance systems, and tools, including Microsoft Office

Excellent verbal communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities

Strong reporting and technical writing skills

Ability to cultivate and maintain positive, professional relationships

Desirable KSAs:
Aspirations for leadership development

Experience with data trend analysis, vibration analysis, motor current analysis, oil analysis, lubrication and hydraulic testing, laser alignment, nondestructive testing, infrared thermography, ultrasound technology, acoustic reliability technology, Weibull analysis, and Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies

Familiarity with various government regulations such as Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), National Electrical Testing Association (NETA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

CMRP certification

The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
