Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $18.00 to $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
The HVAC Maintenance Specialist will take a proactive approach to perform technical and mechanical tasks at our facilities. The role is essential in ensuring that the physical aspects of the buildings, amenities, grounds, and communal areas meet high standards of cleanliness, safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair HVAC systems effectively.
- Conduct thorough inspections of buildings and grounds to ensure safety and curb appeal, while participating in maintenance and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance systems.
- Prepare vacant units for leasing and new residents.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training in a vocational setting; or a combination of education and experience.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills for effective communication with residents and team members.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Proficient in the safe use and upkeep of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
- 2-3 years of experience working with HVAC systems.
- 3-5 years of general maintenance experience; experience in multi-family maintenance is preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions, with occasional indoor tasks, involving moderate exposure to hazards.
- Must be capable of lifting, carrying, or repositioning items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent physical activity is required, including climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and navigating uneven terrain.
