The Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager will be pivotal in overseeing the administrative frameworks, tasks, and initiatives within the facilities division. Collaboration is key in this role, as the Engineering & Facilities Operations Manager will work closely with the facilities team, resort leadership, and various departments to facilitate training, prioritize maintenance requests, assist in departmental recruitment, and ensure effective communication between facilities and resort operations. This position also entails developing preventative maintenance strategies, formulating policies and procedures, managing inventory, maintaining records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the ongoing enhancement of guest feedback initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the facilities department with a focus on detail, ensuring tasks and projects are completed satisfactorily.
  • Maintain all equipment and systems in operational condition, adhering to established standards and safety regulations.
  • Guarantee the effective execution of the Preventive Maintenance Program for guest accommodations, public spaces, and safety systems, collaborating with various operational departments.
  • Oversee mechanical systems, including the Boiler Plant, chilled water circulation, and air handling units.
  • Prepare and manage the facilities department budget, including annual budget planning and monthly expense forecasting.
  • Monitor and manage energy and water consumption, associated costs, and capital expenditures, assisting other departments with their needs.
  • Coordinate landscaping, pool operations, and water treatment for closed systems.
  • Source cost-effective products and track the resort's energy usage on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
  • Recruit, schedule, and oversee payroll, training, and development for facilities personnel.
  • Conduct audits related to facilities and risk management, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Lead the Resort emergency response team in collaboration with security and management.
  • Manage external contractors and ensure adherence to local regulations.
  • Engage actively in the Resort's Energy Management and Environmental programs.
  • Guide a diverse team in general maintenance, HVAC, kitchen repairs, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and grounds upkeep.
  • Organize and participate in monthly departmental meetings and manage sustainability initiatives.
  • Assess administrative needs, manage the facilities work order system, and provide training on the system to other departments.
  • Enhance and sustain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program and develop standard operating procedures and manuals.
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment, fostering strong vendor relationships and managing procurement.
  • Ensure proper documentation of facilities-related vendor records.
  • Participate in safety committees, identifying opportunities for consistency across operations and ensuring successful regulatory inspections.
  • Manage wastewater record-keeping and assist in planning and scheduling capital improvement projects.
  • Engage in guest feedback meetings to drive continuous improvement.
