Regional Sales Engineer - Southeast Region
Role Overview
The Regional Sales Engineer will report to the Senior Director of North American Sales and will operate remotely, focusing on the Southeast region. This role will involve regular collaboration with marketing, operations, customer service, and other support teams. The Regional Sales Engineer is tasked with cultivating and solidifying sales relationships with distributors and direct end-user markets. Engaging directly with end-users necessitates a hands-on approach to address customer needs and outperform local competitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, nurture, and sustain business relationships with existing and potential customers in the assigned region to drive new business and surpass sales objectives.
- Enhance sales and elevate customer service for the current account base while actively seeking new customers and expanding market share within the designated region, including distribution and direct accounts.
- Actively listen to and comprehend customer requirements, identifying feasible solutions, technical support, and business opportunities.
- Employ Value Selling techniques to secure business.
- Acquire and maintain comprehensive product knowledge to effectively present the entire Apex Tool Group product line, showcasing technical expertise regarding functionality and application.
- Facilitate communication across the organization - sales, marketing, and operations as necessary to support and develop business initiatives.
- Stay informed about competitive products and pricing related to power tools.
- Manage opportunities and forecasts for sales by product category.
- Provide weekly updates summarizing the accurate opportunity pipeline by product category.
- Report on activities within the region, including user feedback, trends, competitive actions, and recommendations for productivity enhancements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent of 5+ years of outside sales or sales engineering experience.
- Proven experience in Value-Based Selling.
- Mechanical and technical proficiency.
- Demonstrated history of sales growth.
- Experience in industrial and/or manufacturing outside sales.
- Familiarity with industrial distribution and OEM markets.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Exceptional computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Willingness to travel up to 50% within the region to support sales growth.
