Job Summary

Nemours is seeking a highly skilled ECMO Specialist to join our Cardiac Center team. As a Respiratory Therapist with ECMO expertise, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and emergency respiratory care to patients in the Comprehensive Cardiac Care Unit under the direction of the Cardiac Critical Care attending physician.
  • Collaborate with the ECMO team to ensure seamless patient care and provide consultation and education to other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and adjust ECMO circuit settings to maintain optimal patient outcomes.
  • Assess patient cardiopulmonary status and anticipate potential problems to prevent complications.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews and in-service to share knowledge and improve patient care plans.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited School for Respiratory Care.
  • Holds the 'Certified Respiratory Therapist' or 'Registered Respiratory Therapist' credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Clear and Active Florida License.
  • American Heart Association: Basic Life Support (BLS) required, PALS (Required within the first six months), ACLS (Required within the first six months).
