Respiratory Therapist

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team as a Pulmonary Function Specialist. This role is responsible for performing all aspects of pulmonary function and related testing, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine and specialty pulmonary function testing, stress testing, and metabolic assessment testing.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, providing education and support to patients and their families.
- Maintain and order supplies necessary for pulmonary function lab, ensuring efficient operations.
- Assist with patient flow, capturing and entering patient information into EMR, and collecting laboratory specimens.
- Ensure provider orders are carried out, scheduling diagnostic tests and performing testing according to protocols.
- Oversee medication storage and expiration dates, ordering emergency supplies and medications as needed.
- Support patients' durable medical equipment needs, drafting and initiating orders, troubleshooting equipment issues, and performing ventilator checks.
- Associate's degree required.
- Certified as Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current licensure in Florida as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- Current American Heart Association BLS required.
