Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.

Responsibilities

- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.

Requirements

- State Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
- Certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) preferred.
- Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of employment start date.
- Neonatal Resuscitation certification within six months of employment start date.

HCA Florida Osceola Hospital is a 404-bed tertiary care hospital and a Level II Trauma Center.
